SOLAR STAR FOUNDATION

Beginning in the 2009/10 school year, Quest Academy began operating its own solar station. The solar station, generously underwritten by the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation and Solar Star Foundation, primarily is designed as a teaching tool. Quest Academy students from an early age on are taught about alternative energy sources, including solar panel. By means of web-based technology, students are able to track the power being generated by the solar station. Students can compare and contrast power generation according to time of year and weather conditions. Additionally, students compare and contrast data with other solar stations throughout the world.
